For a back story and some explanations, Im a newbie at networking and even more newbie at EVE NG, because I usually do some configurations in a real physical device for educational purpose provided by my university. Now Im starting to get into network automation, so Im using Ansible. I want to try to configure many devices at once using Ansible, so thats why Im trying to use virtual router and switch in EVE NG. ![]() I tried searching some tutorials on internet, but the one closest to my need is to connect those virtual routes to internet and set the IP config into DHCP. I need the IP address of the router too to config with Ansible. Im sorry for my bad english and my newb knowledge of networking and sorry if this is counted as low quality post or judged not showing effort by the mods. Make sure the vm has at least one nic on the same network as your machine (no NAT etc). Connect the cloud connection of that interface in eve to your virtual router with an ip on that subnet. ![]() You should now be able to create a static route on your host machine to that subnet pointed to the local ip of the virtual router. If ansible isnt on the same machine as the eve vm then static route on the ansible machine to the host of ansible for the same subnet Hopefully thats enough to get you going level 2 Original Poster 1 point 1 year ago Sorry for the late reply. Thank you it works just fine Continue this thread level 1 1 point 1 year ago I run EVE on my esxi cluster, but I did export the VM and imported it onto my laptop on VMware workstation for when Im traveling. ![]() I then add a cloud node in even and choose Cloud1 - which references the second NIC attached to the VM. I would boot up an IOSv router, connect an interface to the cloud node, and run ip address dhcp on the interface. Your local machine will have reachability to the host only network. And Configure Eve-Ng Free To MessageFeel free to message me if you need help with this portion of EVE. It works now.
